  petchair

Is this real?

Oh yes it is.

Hey I love animals just as much as the next person but this is taking pet love to a whole new level of crazy. The product description reads:

The Pet High Chair.

Satisfying a mutual desire for companionship, this high chair permits your dog or cat to accompany you at the dinner table.

If you need a pet high chair to ‘satisfy your DESIRE for companionship’ it’s time to get out more and make a few friends. Don’t cha think?  And I’d be shocked if anyone could actually get a CAT sit and stay in that thing.

So it’s Monday which is my new favorite day of the week because The Bachelorette is on tonight! Whoooo hoo!

Unfortunately the two Canadian guys (were complete douche bags which was a real disappointment.

Douche #1 – Craig M.
Don’t get me started – just a mean, evil, WEIRD nasty guy.

Douche #2 – Justin
Entertainment Wrestler (named Rated-R) with secret girlfriend back home. His plan was to get on the show to get famous and then go home and marry his girlfriend…who he was apparently cheating on with someone else. She (the original girlfriend) called the show to rat him out. He ran like a little girl when confronted by Ali.

Luckily despite the early drama Ali still has a nice selection of men left to frolic with in extravagant tropical locations. My top 3 are Chris L., Kirk and Roberto. Let us take a moment to drool over Roberto. YUM.

So it looks like this week (or maybe next week) Frank freaks out and makes Ali cry. Kinda saw that coming – he’s been really emotionally insecure the entire season. Not a fan. OH! And apparently there will be a HEATED interview between newly broken up couple Jake & Vienna.

THE INTERVIEW
Jake and Vienna, whose recent break-up made headlines in media across the country, face each other for the first time in an emotional and dramatic dialogue with host Chris Harrison, on The Bachelorette, MONDAY, JULY 5 (8:00-10:02 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

WOOT! Someone make me a Cosmo cause I’ll be kicking my feet up to watch while I paint my nails. (Monday is mani/pedi night).

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday!

So glad so many enjoyed yesterday’s YouTube video. I had no idea Hamish & Andy were so big down under. I’m jealous that we don’t have any H&A here in Canada. Thank god for YouTube!

I just finished watching Idol.

OMG.

Are you seriously telling me these are the 20 most talented people in all of AMERICA?!

ARE YOU SERIOUS?

SERIOUSLY?!

No, really…

SERIOUSLY?

No offense to the 8 people with some talent, originality and/or personality (Crystal Bowersox, Lily Scott, Alex Lambert, Didi Benami, Katelyn Epperly, Lee Dewyze, Siobhan Magnus, Casey James).

The other 12 just gotta go.

Like, now.

Thank god for FAST FORWARD. That’s all I gotta say.

And here is my big ISSUE with Idol this year. They are all up everyone’s ass about being ORIGINAL, bringing something new to the song and presenting who you are as an ‘artist’ (not that I don’t disagree) but from what I recall, American Idol is branded as a SINGING/popularity contest not as a battle of the musicians. My point is, if you are looking for people with creativity and musical ability with skill in music arrangement you are looking for a MUSICIAN and not just a singer…right?

So how can you compare someone like Katie Stevens, who can sing beautifully but is clearly not a musician to someone like Crystal or Lilly who are  creative, original and experienced musicians/performers? It’s apples and oranges!

If they are looking for great singers – then stick to people who can sing pretty. If they are looking for original, relevant and creative musicians/performers then why put someone like Katie Stevens or Aaron Kelly or Paige Miles in the top 24 in the first place? You know what I’m saying???

Personally I MUCH prefer the original musicians to the karaoke singers but let’s go back to seasons 1 & 2 (and likely 3 & 4) when that was ok. Seems like they changed the rules secretly along the way – not that I care. Like I said I MUCH prefer the originals but I just don’t get why they would put some of those people through if they can’t offer what they seem to be looking for.

Did anyone watch Rockstar INXS or Rockstar Supernova?

MAN, that was an AWESOME show. I wish it would come back.

And sigh.

There, I’ve said my piece.

I know who I’ll be routing for tomorrow and who I hope will be leaving.

Jermaine Sellers, even though you ‘rocks the onesie’ …

I don’t want to see you sing no more.

Kind of sounds like a disturbing love song…doesn’t it? Well I’m sitting here at the computer, with my knees pulled in to my chest to keep the cat from rolling off my lap wondering how I’m going to get any work done in this awkward position. She’s got herself plastered against my thighs and is holding on to one knee for dear life. She is watching me type. She’s awefully sociable and affectionate in the evenings. Mostly after the midnight. The later it gets, the more she loves me. What’s up with that? Is that a cat thing or do I have her stuck on my demented designer schedule?

I’m trying desperately to change my ways and not stay up all night. It’s already 12:30am so I guess I’ll be (reluctantly) hitting the hay after this. I’m just getting over the most brutal cold ever. Fever, exhaustion and a sore throat from the depths of hell. I was sure it was strep but no such luck. No strep = no meds = suffer through the pain for 5-7 days. Had I not started to feel better 2 days ago I would have been convinced it was the Swine Flu and don’t get me started on that.

Too late. Why does the News try so damn hard to insight mass hysteria? I think 6 people in all over Canada have the Swine flu. They’re all fine. No one has died in either Canada or the US but they are already using words like ‘pandemic’. About 20 thousand people have died this year of the ORIGINAL flu – why don’t they talk about that? Just something to think about.

Anyone watching Idol this season? Blah. Is this season bad or am I getting over this show? I really love Danny Goke’s voice and Allison was great tonight. Adam totally freaks me out. Yes, he’s very talented but that’s not a CD I’m running out to buy anytime soon. Hey Adam, Axl Rose called – he wants his shrieky voice back.

That other guy whose name I always forget…..(looking it up)….Chris. Right, Chris. Ok here is the weird thing with him. He’s probably the most artistic and creative of the bunch but something about him as a person is sooooo vanilla yogourt. Just boring. Nothing exciting and not that memorable. Oh and that last guy (Matt) totally needs to go. For whatever reason I’m completely NOT invested this season. I really don’t care who wins or loses and that just takes the fun out of it. So poo poo on you American Idol. I am not impressed.

And scene.

G’night!

*THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS OF THE BACHELORETTE FINALE.
CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED.*

I’ve just removed myself from the edge of my seat.

That’s where I’ve been for the last TWO hours watching The Bachelorette Finale (yes I know it’s sad – I get very invested). All I can say is WTF?!! I did not (and I repeat not and then underline it twice with a fat sharpie) see that one coming. I do realize it was a 50/50 chance but I really REALLY thought it was going to be Jason. I did start to get nervous when things went SO well for Jason on the family visits. That’s never a good sign – they NEVER pick the one who is portrayed as the best fit…oh those blasted editing people!

After the hometown dates Jeremy shows up (again I add a WTF??) Umm…you were eliminated last week, what are you still doing in the freakin’ Bahamas? I couldn’t help but wonder if they were pulling the biggest Bachelorette twist ever by bringing Jeremy back. I thought maybe DeAnna had changed her mind. Now wouldn’t that be something!

I will say that Jesse looked MUCH better with his hair cut, but I can’t help but be a party pooper and wonder how this will all pan out? Oh so lovey dovey, smoochy woochy, ‘I can’t live without you’, blah, blah, blah….but how hard is it to fall in love with someone when you see them only a few times a week for exciting dates in exotic locations that a team of producers have planned?

Is that really love?

Until you’ve picked up his dirty undies, and he’s seen all the things you never want him to see and until you’re lying in bed and he lets one rip and then pulls the covers over your head without saying and word and just waits until you smell it and have no where to run..then I’m not sure you can say that you are really truly in love. ;)

Hey scrapperdoodles! Long time no reality-tv talk wouldn’t you say?

What are you watching this summer? I’m HOOKED on The Bachelorette. Is this week the finale? I’m dying. There is something SO fabulously refreshing about watching the men fight over a woman for a change. I’m so over seeing women sink to new levels of desperation for the attention of some loser who they’d never look at twice outside the premise of the show. Hey, just because ABC says he’s ‘The Bachelor’ doesn’t mean he’s a catch. Alex Michel, Brad Womack, Andrew Firestone, Prince Lorenzo anyone??

I think I’ve made my point. ;)

That being said, I still love the watching no matter how big a loser the guy is. I can’t wait to find out who DeAnna chooses. She deserves a happy ending!  I’m happy she axed Robo-Jeremy but am so shocked that Jesse (a laid-back snowboarder) ended up in the final two. He seems like a great guy, but I just don’t see it happening. I’m crossing my fingers for Jason! He’s such a sweetheart and she can be SURE that he doesn’t have comittment issues (he has a son – for those who aren’t watching). Bummer about Graham (who refused to show any signs of the ability to commit). I thought she was so brave to get rid of him despite how she felt about him (she was falling in love with him). Men are just messed up. You could tell he was kicking himself in the ass throughout the ‘The Men Tell All’ episode. I have a feeling he’ll be kicking for a long time to come.

I’m also watching So You Think You Can Dance. Love, love, love Joshua & Katie, Kherington & Twitch, Chelsea & Mark, Gev and Will. How HOT were Will and Twitch last week…HE-LLO!!#? Don’t worry, if you missed it, I found it for you. And those of you who did see it, you KNOW you want to watch it again…

Kherington & Twitch – Dreaming With a Broken Heart

Jessica & Will – Alone

Oh MAMA. Is it getting warm in here or is it just me?

I’m only HALF looking forward to the Canadian version debuting this fall because #1 if they don’t get some great choreographers the show will stink and #2 it’s being hosted by Much Music’s Leah Miller who I happen to find incredibly irritating and hard to watch. That could be a problem. Although I do sit through Canadian Idol and Ben Mulroney (host) is no treat. Luckily, I have the ability to fast forward through most of his banter. He ain’t no Ryan Seacrest, that’s for sure. LOL.

I am normally not much of a Canadian Idol fan but OH SNAP, this year there are some seriously talented people! We are only in week 2 (top 20) and I am LOVING these two dudes:

Canadian Idol Contestant: Theo Tams

Canadian Idol Contestant: Mookie Morris

What do you think? Pretty good right? There are few others who are pretty good as well. Looks like it’s shaping up to be a pretty good season. Speaking of shaping up…I am also watching American Gladiators. Anyone else? So glad they brought it back. I’m not digging that wrestling event on the tilting glass platform. They shouldn’t be able to hang on to the wires. That’s totally cheating. They should mount it from undereneath so that it’s not hanging and there is nothing to hold on to. Who do I write to about that? Dear Hulk Hogan…. ;)

I wasn’t going to admit this but it’s been a slow summer so,…I also watched Wipeout. Just once…Ok, twice. It’s supposed to be an American version of all the ridiculous Japanese game shows. It’s basically like watching a human video game. They set up a silly obstacle course – kind of like The Eliminator (from American Gladiators) but dumber. And if you think that watching people get punched in the face by a punching wall, tossed into a bin of mud and ricochet like a rag doll off massive inflatable balloons is not entertaining you are very very wrong. It is actually VERY entertaining and I highly recommend that you watch it…at least once!

Till next time!! ;)

The SHOP & WIN Shutterfly Contest is now over! Congratulations to the lucky ladies who will both be receiving a 20 page custom hardcover album courtesy of the good people at Shutterfly.com. Winners were selected at random by an online random number picker which was a huge time saver and a great way to conduct a totally random draw! Thanks to everyone who shopped during the contest period!

Congratulations also goes out to the fabulous Cindy Schneider (cindys732003) who I am thrilled to have on the PC Design Team. I’ve been a fan of Cindy’s beautiful pages for a long time and am so happy that she is finally part of our team! Check out some of her recent work:

But enough about scrapbooking. I think we all know why you’re really here…
It’s IDOL recap time and sniff, it’s my final one.

*WARNING: DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT YET SEEN THE IDOL FINALE.*

Tuesday night was the big night! The final night; the last chance to “wow” the crowd and I can honestly say I was not very “wowed”. The David’s each sang 3 songs and not one got me to “rewind and rewatch” – the true sign of Idol greatness. Both sang well but alas, no goosebumps. The highlight of the night was definitely the new Mac commercial where PC is in a support group for PC’s running Vista….LMAO…Classic. Those commercials are the best. Someone remind me why I’m on a PC?  Sigh… But I digress.

Each sang a mentor’s choice, an original from the songwriter’s competition, and a song of their choice.  Archuleta chose “Imagine” by John Lennon…again. Yes, it was definitely his best song of the season but let me see something different, please. Cook chose to do something new (‘The World I Know’ by Collective Soul). And while it was no where near his best performance, it was probably his best of the night and I applaud him for not playing it safe by re-singing something we’ve heard from him before. Oddly enough, Cook never knocks my socks off with songs that are actually IN his genre. His best performances to me, have been with songs that are completely OUT of his genre that have been rearranged to suit his style (think Lionel Richie’s “Hello” and Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean”, Roberta Flack etc.) Through all 3 songs, I thought he really played it safe and never really ‘killed it’. After Simon flat out declared Archuleta the “winner” of every round, I couldn’t help but wonder if Cook had decided to “throw” the night to try to lose to avoid being locked into a contract with Idol producers. Hmmmm. After all was said and done I was quite positive that Archuleta would take the title that was just fine with me.

Wednesday Night: THE RESULTS.
Finale night brought us two full hours of schmaltzy group sing-a-longs and performances from the season’s rejects, most of which I watched zip by at 20 miles per hour as I fast forwarded through a good 65% of it. I’m sorry. I just couldn’t handle TWO hours. First the top 12 sang together, then just the guys, then just the girls, then just the David’s, then just…..you get the picture. Lots of famous guest performances (Bryan Adams, Seal, Donna Summer, Jordin Sparks, Carrie Underwood) including the most AWEFUL performance by George Michael. What the hell was that? I did enjoy the “group” George Michael medley as well as the David’s version of “Hero”. Not so enjoyable was the group Donna Summer medley and all singing by Amanda Overmeyer, and Jason Castro.

Most entertaining moments included Jimmy Kimmel and the look back at some of the worst Idol auditions. Oh my gawd. HILARIOUS. Best performance goes to Carrie Underwood. Note to her stylist – you forgot her PANTS. Worst outfit goes to Jordin Sparks (weird gold puffy dress) and oddest performance that was still entertaining in a weird way goes to the little guy with the big hat who sang that “Brothers Forever” song.

So finally, finally, FINALLY it was time to announce the winner. Something like 97 million votes came in, which is just…well…sick. Ryan said something like if every single person in Canada and Spain and a few other countries voted it STILL wouldn’t be enough to reach the number of votes they received. It was something like a 56-44 split and I was SURE it was going to be Archuleta. Ryan opens the envelope and OH! IDOL SHOCKER. Cook WINS!!!! Where is all the confetti and shooting lights? Geez! I was SO relieved to find out that the song he’d sung the night before was NOT the song he sang when he won. I thought that they had chosen their winning songs the night before from the songwriter submissions but tonight he sang a different one much better than the first. I do feel bad for Archuleta – but I think they will both do well and I look forward to seeing what Cook does next. Congratulations David Cook!!! It’s fun to see someone with real musical talent (not just a singer) actually win. Hopefully this will up the bar for next year!

The End.
