Mint-spirational Monday

It’s a double dose of Mint-spiration this week as we pull pages from last week as well into this week’s much anticipated never duplicated edition of Mint-spirational Monday…er Tuesday. Yes I know it’s Tuesday. Don’t judge me. Word to yo momma.

Let’s do it.

April12th2012 | by: andrea_luhman
Ack!! I just LOOOVE this page! It is everything I hoped I would see when I was designing this kit. Perfectly accessorized with elements, nice use of color over the softer background – heck even their clothing coordinates PERFECTLY! Coincidence, or the work of an experienced scrapbooker who thought to dress her kids to match the kit – we will never know!!!! The pics are just so so cute. Great page!

Dance | by: Nica
Another brilliant but completely different use of the same kit. Nica paired the pink heart paper from the PB&J kit with solid black for the perfect ‘dance’ color scheme. The hints of purple match that rather smashing sequin vest. LOVE the black and white action shots spread across the top. And I don’t know about you guys, but look at that hand placement. This kid’s got it! I think we’re looking a future star here. What a cutie. :)
201206242218.jpg

Double Digits | by: rjcjme
Bold use of black makes this page POP! Love the minimalist design. It is strong and effective! Lovely use of the Celebration Station kit! 201206242238.jpg

always play | by: KirstieGai
Fun use of Missy’s Templates Set 7. The vertical direction of the frames just works perfectly with these climbing photos. Great use of the Work it Papers and Elements and mix of other elements and kits thrown in. I love the creativity involved in mixing several kits together!
201206242219.jpg

cheese popcorn | by: Keela
Love the use of color in this one to emphasize the ‘CHEESE’ popcorn! Don’t forget to use your colors to make something original and amazing. You don’t have to be limited – that’s the beauty of digital! 201206242230.jpg

Celebrate Each Day | by: Lijezz
Amazing (and bold) use of pattern here. Using so many patterns together can be difficult and intimidating but Lijezz executed this page perfectly using the Birthday Boogie Papers. Beautiful! 201206242220.jpg

Mr. & Mrs. | by: missys3lilbugs
I’m not going to lie – Thanks to Missy’s Templates Set.8, this is one my FAVE pages using the Classic Wedding Papers and Classic Wedding Elements that I’ve seen so far. I love the shapes and the layering and how the circles pull focus to the photo. AWESOME.
201206242227.jpg

Minty Mix Bag Challenge_font | by: emilyk
Could these pics be any cuter?! Love the overall design with the photos floating in the centre of the page. Fantastic clustering of elements too! Simple but pretty and tropical! 201206242221.jpg

fun at the park | by: KirstieGai
The reviews are in: FUN! Fab! COLORFUL! This page just makes me want to play! Great use of color and elements here. Loving seeing the Funktography kit being used for just a fun, everyday kind of page!
201206242221.jpg

Letters 2 Home | my2monkeys
Ahh the elusive pictureless page! DARING! This is just fantastic. It’s not easy to make a page sans picture really interesting but I declare this one a SUCCESS! What a great idea too – I’m sure we’ve all got a special letter, memo, document or ticket stub that could be scanned and scrapped. So get scanning and grab the
Mr. Postman Elements and Papers to get started. 201206242229.jpg

Tabby Tim | by: PixelHabit
Tabby Time kind of looks like my Abby! Love the color treatment on the photo and the choice of a neutral brown background. Very sweet page. 201206242222.jpg

Creative Little Artist | by: missys3lilbugs
Missy rocks her template (Set. 7) along with one of my fave’s from last year – the Artsy Fartsy Kit to complete this creative masterpiece! Love the large photo of artwork as well as the overall layout. The layers are amazing!!! The page really has a crafty feel. Love it.
201206242231.jpg

like whatever | by: KirstieGai
Ohhh the attitude! Gotta love it. This funky neon page is just FUN! Great mix of the iRock and Teen Queen kits. The Itchy Stitchy White Alpha fits perfectly with the style of this page! Great kit combining once again!
201206242223.jpg

And that does it for this week! Don’t forget to post your pages in the Peppermint Creative Gallery. Every month one lucky scrapper will be awarded a $5 gift card to the store just for posting – plus you could be featured here on the blog :) Thanks to everyone who posted. Hope you’re all feeling Mint-spired. ;)

Is it Monday again?

Hot dog.

Is it just me or are the weeks going by faster and faster?

It’s hard to believe it but we are already in June. Seems like just yesterday I was throwing on my winter boots and running out to do my errands in my PJs. One of the perks of winter – wearing whatever you want under that long winter coat! But that’s just between us – k?

I know it’s hard to stay in and scrap in the summer but the warm weather hasn’t deterred these talented ladies from creating some amazing pages! Let’s take a peek at the great stuff in the gallery this week:

My Best Friend | page by: Cherry Limeade
Ummm WOW. This is such an artsy feast for the eyes! I love this art journal style of page and now I totally want to make one myself but it probably wouldn’t turn out this cool. Now I now what you’re thinking…”how they heck did she do that?” Here’s the trick. Candy layered the Massive Splat Mats over the Peeled Paper Templates to create the cool painted effect. These are both layered over a red polka dot paper from the Rainbow Joy Paper Pack which is poking through. The addition of some scribbles and scattered scripty text give a great journal feel. Then she picked up (my FAVE) Machine Stitches v. 1 and use them to digitally stitch her title using the Artist Cardboard Alpha. COOL BEANS. Let’s all give this a try!

201206102200.jpg

Now Playing | page by: justagirl
There must have be some creative juice in the water this week! Check out this fantastic page using the Movie Night kit. Now if that’s not cool enough, scroll down and check out the hybrid version of the same page created using a manilla envelope.
All the digital elements were printed and cut out. C’mon – that is just SO cool! What else can I say? Layout ENVY.

201206102203.jpg

MMB 95 | page by: nina81
This month’s Paper-to-Digi Challenge is inspirting some amazing pages. Check out this gorgeous page using the He Loves Kit. Changing the photo to black and white was a fantastic choice for this kit. It blends so nicely and I personally think it gives this page a really polished look.

201206102200.jpg

A Day at the Sprayground | page by: Cherry Limeade
If you are feeling a little groggy this morning this page is sure to wake you up! COLOR to the max. Perfect for a fun, bright, summer page! Candy used the Color-Coded Papers: Seabreeze Limeade with all sorts of bright elements like the Color-Coded Posh Luxe Flowers: Seabreeze Limeade, the Color-Coded Knick Knacks: Seabreeze Limeade and the messy funky painted prints found in Paint Box v. 02 – which are a great addition to…well pretty much everything. I love me some paint!

201206102201.jpg

Love Thee | page by: rjcjme
Looks like the creative juice also made it’s way to Julie. Now here’s a gal who’s knows how to recolor and isn’t afraid to do it. I just LOVE this monochromatic page. The mix of pattern, shape and texture is all your need to make this page interesting. Almost everything item in this page has been recolored AND almost every item has come from a different kit. What a great example of ‘thinking outside the kit’. I just made that up. I think I will run this as a challenge some time. But the moral of the story is, don’t be afraid to pick things from here and there and put them together. See what happens. Worst case scenario you just press delete :)

201206102202.jpg

rock star | page by: Keela
This fab page combines the awesome (if I do say so myself) iRock Kit and Missy’s Template Set 6. I love how Keela pulled the pink, black and green from her son’s t-shirt as the color scheme for this page. So clever. I also love the different angles of the photos and the mix of posed and candid. Just fab!

201206102207.jpg

Just Be – MMB #95 | page by: shutterspeed

Awww. This page feels really solemn and authentic to me. I love the soft dreamy quality of the photo and the muted colors of the page. It is a really interesting mix do the the Lovebird Paper – Soilds the Uniquely You Kit and the Lovebird Elements. Just lovely.

201206102207.jpg

Tutu Cute | page by: Cara322
Don’t lie. You know you want a tutu like this. I sure do. Look at all the color! This page is a great example of perfect pictures paired with the perfect kit. The colors in the Pinwheel Bubbles kit compliment these photos perfectly!

201206102208.jpg

And that does it for this week! Don’t forget to post your pages in the Peppermint Creative Gallery. Every month one lucky scrapper will be awarded a $5 gift card to the store just for posting – plus you could be featured here on the blog :) Thanks to everyone who posted. Hope you’re all feeling Mint-spired. ;)

It’s ma-ma-ma-MONDAY!

Time for a peak at what’s been posted in the gallery this week!

Hey, that rhymes.

I’m awesome.

And speaking of awesome, let’s take a look:

(just a reminder: click on any page to view it in the gallery for full product credits)

15K Finishline | by: glumirk
Wow! How awesome is this page! The mix of patterns and shapes, the layers (oh the LAYERS). It perfectly captures the feeling of the photos. I’m so amazed how such a cluttered page can looks so perfectly uncluttered. All the elements are neatly tucked into just the right place. Love it!
201206041919.jpg

Jack and Sally | by: marylee
SO cool. I love the kooky spooky feel of this page. But my favorite part is the scanned autographs at the top right held in place by the skeleton hand. That is such a PERFECT touch!
201206031830.jpg
Happy 6th Birthday! | by: missys3lilbugs
Missy puts her template to work here with this super cute page. I love the energy and the joy in the pictures not to mention all the odds and ends tucked here and there. So much fun! You can look at this page10 times and find a new element each time!

201206031830.jpg

Beautiful Girl | by: glumirk
As the title suggests, this really is beautiful. First the photography is just lovely. Second I love that so many photos were included on one page. It’s just so soft and pretty. Very well executed.
201206041922.jpg

MBC #95 Paper-to-Digi | by: ScrappieIrene
This awesome photojournalistic (is that a word?) style page is for this month’s Paper-to-Digi Challenge. That’s where we choose a great traditional scrapbook page (made using paper and glue – yep, old school styles) that we’ve found online and ask you to use that as your inspiration to create a digital page of your own. This is Irene’s take on the challenge and I just LOVE it. The candid black and white photo really adds character to the page. Want to play along? Join the challenge now.

201206031831.jpg

one of a kind | by: KirstieGai
I don’t know about you but what I noticed first about this page was that super funky braid in her hair! That’s some cool braiding. I love the simplicity of this page. Nicely accessorized without taking away from the photos or the nice open spaces. This really helps pull focus to the photos which is where you want to look first after all.
201206031831.jpg

And that does it for this week! Don’t forget to post your pages in the Peppermint Creative Gallery. Every month one lucky scrapper will be awarded a $5 gift card to the store just for posting – plus you could be featured here on the blog :) Thanks to everyone who posted. Hope you’re all feeling Mint-spired. ;)

Happy Monday! It is an unbelievable 30 degrees here in Toronto today – wowza! I guess I can officially move my winter sweaters out of the closet and into my dresser for the season. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Welcome back to another edition of Mint-spirational Monday, our weekly spotlight of the best pages and projects from the Peppermint Creative Gallery. With the long weekend in the US, I know lots of you are away or busy making summer plans so there was definitely a noticeable shortage of pages in the gallery this week. But that’s ok because the pages I do have to share with you this week are simply AMAZING.

Let’s check out this week’s standouts:

Growing up Friends | by: Tasha
This page is just stunning. So summery and fun but mostly importantly, thanks to Missy’s Templates Set.5 it is also filled with pictures! What I LOVE the most is the way the page is designed with the photos stacked on top of one another is really helps the pictures blend together almost to give us one giant scene of the girls running and rolling down a big hill. It’s hard to explain so I hope you understand what I’m trying to get at! I love the way the Uniquely You Kit was used for this page and how it was paired so nicely with the Stitched Felt Alphabet – Melon and the Push Button Alphabet – Sand. As my team has pointed out to me I tend to use a lot of the same colors when I design so you will find that lots of the alphabets and extra embellishments will easily coordinate with many kits. So don’t be afraid to mix and match and pull items that ‘don’t belong’ into your pages.
201205270915.jpg

Draculaura | by: KirstieGai
Speaking of mixing and matching elements this page is a PERFECT example. The brilliant mix of pinks, purples and blacks from 3 different kits makes for a totally funky, yet girlie Halloween style page. Kirstie cleverly combined the Fright Night Kit with the Prettiest Princess Papers and Elements and the Sweet Cheeks Papers and Elements to practically make a whole new kit! One I wish I would have made to be honest! Love the great photos and the clever title as well.
201205270917.jpg

Class of 2010 | by: Missys3lilbugs
It’s graduation season! Love this ADORABLE page. Created using
Missy’s Templates Set.6 and a seamless mix of the Congrats Grad Mini Kit and the Whiz Kid Kit. I LOVE all the layers, the bold mix of so many prints and all the elements tucked here and there. Did you notice the cut addition of the little ribbon tails to the ‘Class of 2010′ title? AWESOME. I also love the look of the star bursts stamped in the background – this really gives the page a pop of excitement – although I am a huge fan of having stuff stamped in the background. Missy used the Magical Mats for this page which are quickly becoming my second favorite stamp set EVER.
201205270918.jpg

Perfectly Wonderful | by: Cherry Limeades
Another perfectly delightful page created using Missy’s Templates (Set 4) and the Uniquely You Kit. I just love the layering of the flowers and circles on the side. This page demonstrates a great tip – using black and white pictures is not only a great way to get your photos to work with any kit but it can also be great way to get pictures taken at different times (that might have different lighting, or coloring) to look more uniform like the ones below.
201205270920.jpg

Kid Pitch | by: Missys3lilbugs
Sports PERFECTION! I’m a huge fan of pages that feature a series of photos. I just love them and I LOVE how Missy captured the second by second play by play of the all important pitch! Great shots! This page features the Work It Paper and Element Pack mixed with the Sports Star Element Pack and of course Missy’s Template’s Set.5. I guess it is a total coincidence that these pictures happen to coordinate with these kits perfectly :) Really fun one.
201205272106.jpg

Thunderbirds | by: marylee
And last – but certainly not least is this brilliant double page spread from MaryLee. A fantastic slice of American pride :) I love that she used the Stars & Stripes Papers and Elements originally designed for July 4th for this page and it works PERFECTLY! The absolutely stunning pictures really take centre stage and don’t require much element embellishment. 201205281722.jpg 201205281722.jpg

And that does it for this week! Don’t forget to post your pages in the Peppermint Creative Gallery. Hope you’re all feeling Mint-spired. ;)

Happy Monday! Welcome to another edition of Mint-spirational Monday, our weekly spotlight of the best pages and projects from the Peppermint Creative Gallery. It’s been another fantastic week of pages. I’m a little late to the game today but (a) Here in Canada it is Victoria Day so the fireworks are popping and everyone is enjoying the long weekend plus (b) my brother got married yesterday so it was wedding HOOPLA all weekend long and I only had 3 hours sleep last night. I’m actually starting to nod off as I type so this post will either be super short, or long, uncensored and possibly slightly incoherent.

It’s 9pm and I’ve got The Bachelorette on pause so let’s get this party started and see the creativity that’s been cooking in the gallery this week.

Pimp My Page Challenge #48 | by: Pixlehabit
Such a lovely spring page! The thing that stood out to me on this page was the way the photos appear to seamlessly run from frame to frame. What a great way to use only one picture with a multi-photo frame.

201205180921.jpg

Mini Cyclistes | by: Aemilius
Caution: Extreme Cuteness Ahead. So so adorable. Love the color choices, the great title and the use of elements on this one.

201205212103.jpg

Happy Times | by: cindys732003
Always great to see a page from the super fabulous and now famous Cindy Schneider! Absolutely stunning. I love the loads of layers and how she was able to incorporate SO MANY pictures so well. Not an easy thing to do.

201205182024.jpg

Perfect | by: Scrappie Irene
How pretty! So simple and elegant but fresh and springy. I love all the flowers floating about.

201205212104.jpg

Top Shot | by: shutterspeed
So cool! This almost looks like a movie poster. So well executed and designed. Love how the arrow pulls your eye to the centre of the page – it really pulls it all together.

201205180922.jpg

My Cowboy | by: Nica
Issuing another cuteness alert. Adorable. 20 points for the the outfit alone. I’m so loving that the photo is the main thing on the page with the elements acting truly as embellishments.

201205180923.jpg

Locks of Love | by: qtpyekeri
Beautiful in design and in sentiment. Love how the after photo is in color (great cut!) and love seeing the progression of pictures of the actual haircut. What a perfect page to celebrate such a wonderful gesture.

201205212106.jpg

Thanks everyone for sharing your wonderful work – you done good.
And remember to keep POSTING!!!
CIAO for now my crafty friends.

Ask and ye shall receive.

That’s right baby! It’s BACK.

There has been many a demand…er request to bring back Mint-spirational Mondays, our spotlight on the best pages and projects of the week from the Peppermint Creative Gallery, and since I’m a bit of a people pleaser – here we are. But I’ve got a bit of a bone to pick with you folks. If you’re going to ask that I bring back a spotlight on gallery pages – then you’ve got to post your pages in the gallery! I cannot post what I cannot see…capiche?

gallery-contest.jpg

And on that note, I’m excited to announce that I will also be awarding a fabulous $5 gift card to Peppermint Creative to one Mintastic gallery poster every month. All you have to do is post your pages (using mostly Peppermint Creative products) in the gallery and at the end of the month ‘I shall select a winner’ (to be read aloud in a bad British accent). Everyone is welcome to post. And as I mentioned in a post last week, I love to see what you guys are creating. It makes all the long lonely hours designing in the middle of the night with random infomercials playing in the background while I snack on things I shouldn’t be eating totally worth it so don’t rob me of that joy – okie dokie?

CAUTION: High levels of MINT-SPIRATION ahead! Keep a pen and notepad handy in the event of a creative emergency.

Note that you can click any of the pages below to view them in the gallery where you will find credits listed for all products used if something should strike your fancy. Ok, it’s time for some MINT-spiration…so lets get to it!

Art Show | by: my2monkeys
This page is stunning! The layers, the colors – where to look first? It perfectly captures the artistic theme of the page. And I love all the photos of artwork included.
201205131656.jpg

Perfect | by: Lijezz
Ahhhhh! SO LOVE this! It really is (as the title suggests) perfect on so many fronts. Love how the patterned paper is clipped to the Messy Love Mat behind the photo. Love the arrangement of the title with jars and bread on each side. Gorgeous overall design. 201205131656.jpg

Army Cadets | KirstieGai
What a super idea for a birthday party – put those kids to work! Great mix of products and colors to really capture the army feel!
201205131657.jpg

Race Day | by: Cherry Limeade
This page is such an inspiration – the layout, the colors, the photos…just makes me want to lace up my sneakers and go for a run. Fantastic!
201205131658.jpg

Artist | by: rjcjme
Ahhh the elusive photo-less page. Often talked about but rarely seen. You have to look closely to appreciate all the detail in this one. The scanned artwork hanging by a wire, the colored pencils and scissors tucked behind it, the arrow pointing to the slightly tilted hand-written journaling. It all works together perfectly to give this page a child-like, crafty feel. Great page!
201205131702.jpg

We Are Here | by: mj.johnston
JEALOUS! I want to go too. Love the large photo up top with the small ‘highlights’ underneath. The bright colors and fun pictures perfectly captures the joy that I was personally assured by Mary Jo was whole heartedly felt on this trip. They had a great time and it really shows.
201205131659.jpg

backyard bootcamp | by: KirstieGai
If you scroll up a few layouts you may notice a theme in Kirstie’s layouts….child labour. LOL. No wonder she is always so fast to get everything done. She’s got a gang of workers on hand! ;) But seriously folks. LOVE this page! Maybe I’m just a glutton for punishment but this looks like a ton of fun to me. Love seeing the kids being so active and having a great time. Great use of Missy’s Template here – so many pictures without it looking too cluttered. 201205131659.jpg

3 Months | by: shutterspeed
So cute! I love the choice to convert the photos to black & white here – it works really well and let’s the colors of the page pop! 201205131700.jpg

Soccer Practice | by: Mommy2Talesia
That clever border of soccer balls totally caught my eye! Love the clean and simple design – not to mention the great action shots!
201205131700.jpg

the handbag | Gabby
And last – but certainly not least…this LOVELY page from Gabby. OOOOOOOOOH. A PURSE. LOVE purses. Can never have enough. In fact I was just thinking of going to find a new one today. I love the delicious color and how only one of the photos is in color – very artistic shots! So purdy.
201205140911.jpg
