Another quickie blog post. Busy like a bee working on some new Christmas, Hannukah and Winter kits for you. Here’s another Trick from Tay to keep you on your toes!

INSTRUCTIONS USING PHOTOSHOP:
1. Select the Mintage Frame that is closest to the size of your photo.
2. Place photo behind frame and slide it to one corner.
3. Use the marquee tool to select the empty part of the frame.
4. Cut (cntrl+ c) and paste (cntrl +v) the selected part of frame.
5. Drag it and overlap the existing frame until it fits your photo perfectly.
6. Trim edges of cut section if necessary to ensure a seamless blend.
7. Merge the two frame layers to create one custom frame.
* This technique works best on frames without drop shadows added.
Add your own drop shadow after creating your new frame.

It’s so simple, so why didn’t I think of that myself? LOL LOL. I’m very happy with you tips.
I am used to work with Photoshop Elements 5 and 6, but since a week I have CS3. What a difference. I prefer Elements 5 for scrapping, but for enhancing my photos I prefer CS3. What a possibilities. So with your tips I can see how it all works! Thanks!

Great tip! I haven’t got PS open so I can’t check but I think you can miss out step 4 – just select the empty part with marquee (step 3) and then switch to the move tool and drag it across – as in step 5.
As far as I’m aware cutting and pasting in layers seriously increases the file size of your LO and can make it slow to work with if you don’t have stacks of RAM.
Hope you don’t mind me adding this :)

Here I am thinking about this upcoming ‘winter’ kit while I am sitting here sweating with the air con on in 34 C heat!!! Crazy. We need a kit with Santa wearing some flip flops, sunscreen and a cold beer!!!
