Pulling out my digital feather duster and wipe away the cobwebs on this blog.

HELLO???

Anybody still out there?

We’ve recently had some great tutorial requests in the forum for creating text on a path and customizing drop shadows and I know many of you don’t get a chance to nose around in there so I thought I’d post them on my blog as well. So I’m wondering…what is it you want to know? (working in Photoshop and/or Elements)

No question is too silly or too basic.

Post your Q’s below in the comments section and I’ll add it to my list.

Speak now or forever smash your mouse against your keyboard in frustration!

Happy ALMOST Halloween ladies! In the last Peppermint Creative Newsletter I promised that Halloween products would be out shortly (I didn’t define shortly) and it’s ALMOST done! I’m really excited about this one – I think you’re going to LOVE it!

Keep you eyes peeled for Green Cauldron to be released within the next few days along with some Halloween gift tags, cupcake toppers and other fun hybrid treat accessories!

If you missed this kit from last week add it to your wishlist! Perfect for all your fall and Thanksgiving pages and I’m working on some coordinating recipe cards which will make a nice affordable gift! I put this one out super early because Canadian Thanksgiving was on the 11th.

by: Mary Jo Johnston

How about a quick, super easy project for movie night this weekend? This little project is sure to put smiles on the faces of everyone in your family!

Miss Mint’s Popcorn Box Templates are a snap to print and cut! They go together in minutes with just a little adhesive. For a little added fun, design one of these cute labels for your beverage and you’re all set!

Here’s what you’ll need:

Peppermint Creative Popcorn Box Template
Peppermint Creative Kooky Spooky Papers

Or

Peppermint Creative Hocus Pocus Papers
Peppermint Creative Monster Mash Kit (for the awesome bat!)
Peppermint Creative Vector Shapes – Bracket Mats
Peppermint Creative Vintage Mix Alphabet
Your Favorite Halloween Ribbon
Small Hole Punch
Beverage Bottle and Some Yummy Treats!

Instructions:

  1. Print and cut your Popcorn Box Template, using your favorite Halloween papers.
  2. Assemble the box and fill with yummy candy treats!
  3. Using the bracket mats as a clipping mask, select a patterned paper and create your label approximately 3.5” wide.
  4. Place a small circle, with coordinating paper, in the center of your label.
  5. Place a smaller circle, with coordinating paper, in the center of the first one.
  6. Using the Vintage Mix Alpha (which is super spooky!), add text for your beverage.

Here are a few more options for you =)

Sparkling Spider Sprite

Witches Brew (Coca Cola)

Candy Corn Cola (Orange Juice)

Vampire Blood (Fruit Punch)

  1. Add a little embellishment like Chester the Bat!
  2. Print and cut your label.

  1. Punch a small hole on either side of the label and thread a large ribbon through.
  2. Tie the label to your beverage bottle.

Happy Halloween! MJ
