Happy Passover to my Jewish peeps! L’chaim!
Mon 29 Mar 2010
It’s MONDAY! Time for 24, Dancing with the Stars and another edition of Mint-spirational Monday. Let’s see what the gallery has in store for us this week:
P365 Wks 9-12 | by: shutterspeed
A beautiful example of a project 365 page from Sarah. I love the clean look and the use of green in honour of St. Patty’s Day perhaps? The photography really stands out here which really is the point of the project and that is why I love this one.
i’m unbreakable | by: Hayley2505
This bold, strong layout really grabbed my attention in the gallery. The high contrast photos give the page a hard look which works perfectly with the theme of ‘strength’.
MBM#31 – Reuse | by: tkeetch
An awesome example of last week’s MBM challenge where I asked you to spill your little household and/or beauty secrets. This page is packed with great ideas!
Life Is A Highway | by: tkeetch
The interesting part about this layout is the diagonal design. The super cute pictures don’t hurt either.
*little hands* | by: birgit
These kids are mighty talented! Look at them hand painting their own eggs! Love the layering and the use of the elements on this one. It’s also nice to try using a white background to make your colors really pop as they do here.
Doodle Stationary Cards | by: shutterspeed
Simply stunning! Sarah placed the new Spring Doodles on folded cardstock to create custom note cards for a friend. What a perfect personalized gift!
easter | by: Joscie
Do you think Joscie bought those adorable Easter ties just to match with my kit – or is it just a coincidence? Either way – it coordinates so perfectly I couldn’t resist..and those faces – I could just eat them. But I won’t.
P365 March Page 1 | by: KirstieGai
I have to post this page. It is hysterical. See the top photo in the middle. ROFL.
Boys will be boys!
Spring is in the Air | by: ingridfasquelle
A gorgeous page with fresh colors that just screams SPRING! I love the focus on the peach and pink/magenta color combo. It’s so soft and refreshing – like pink lemonade.
colourful life | by: KirstieGai
This page is just AWESOME. You can’t deny it. It either makes you smile or gasp in appreciation for the effort (and the computer power) this must have taken. This week’s MBM challenge is to create a layout in this style. I am ITCHING to give it a try! Don’t be scared – give it a shot and post in the gallery! (Don’t worry about crediting EVERY item.)
Keep on creating! You know I love to see your pages!!

Hippity hoppity! Look what the Easter Bunny brought – just in the nick of time! Delicious designs for all your Easter pages. I think this might be one of my all time FAVORITE paper sets. Perfect for a LOT of occasions and events. This was SUPPOSED to be purely Easter but sometimes the designs take on a life of their own and it ended up working perfect for spring too. My favourite is that delicious crackled egg texture on the the solids – hand painted by Mama Mint. (yes, all Mints like to get a little artsy fartsy). And the BEST part is that is is ALL 15% off until April 5th (midnight EST).
Lots of GOOD stuff in here…trying to fill out some of the outstanding design requests. Flowers and stitches and even more metal shapes. I LOVE the buttons in this kit.
And of course, now that the BINGO CARD train has started there is no getting off anytime soon. I do realize that there are supposed to be 5 letters at the top of every card but I hate the look of the star in the middle so I decided to not put it in.
You can’t have Spring without FLOWERS of course and these little doodles are coloured to coordinate with the Chocolate Bunny kit.
And since you’ve been loving the Glitterboard Alphabets here are 3 more in coordinating colours.
And some sample layouts from the team:
Excited?! Well don’t just stand there, get to it!

Thanks for all your kind comments on my Florida pictures. I feel encouraged to share more often. ;) Glad to be back and into the swing of things over here in Peppermint-land. Looking forward to the premiere of Dancing with the Stars tonight. Last season was boring but they have a pretty solid cast this year so I hope it will be fun. Oh, I remember back in the day (season 1) when Mr. M would walk by the TV as I watched turning his nose up in horrified disgust at my invitation to join me on the couch to watch. ‘Why would I want to watch BALLROOM dancing?’ he would say. ‘It’s boring and lame.’ Fast forward several seasons later to a time when he can now critique a Paso Doble (his favourite dance, by the way) better than Carrie Ann.
Seriously.
He can even identify the style of dance 9 times out of 10 without being told. My how times they have a changed. And of course the lesson to be learned here is that I am always right….even when I’m wrong. Right ladies? But before I get totally carried away I should get back to the task at hand. LAYOUTS! It’s Monday and it’s time for another exciting edition of Mint-spirational Monday! (Can I get a ‘what, what?’)
Great Hair | by: birgit
This cutie pie page by Birgit is the ultimate girlie page and just LOOK at those braids! The hairdressing technique alone is enough to land this page on the Mint Monday list.
Never Greener | by: tkeetch
I’m loving the mix of kits and colors on this one. I also love the placement of the photo inside the house with the grass and flowers. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
In the Garden | by: Aemilius
A delicious mix of green makes this page pop. I love the blocked design and the adorable photo too. I also like the addition of the touches of red on this page. Being the complimentary color to green, this page is in perfect color harmony.
Go Green | by: KirstieGai
This page is a wonderful reminder that not all pages NEED to have pictures. In fact, a pictureless page is a perfect work of art! Think of new ways to use your digi scrapping skills to create something special. Focus on a saying or a quote!
Skim Boarding | by: Scraphappy
High five to Scraphappy for this AMAZING page. I’ve loved it since the first second I saw it. There are so many brilliant things going on here don’t know where to start. From the use of the beachy blue to the touches of orange (again, using complimentary colors always works!) to the AWESOME action of series of shots moving across the page in a wave of overlapping circles, this page totally captures the moment. I also LOVE the large shot at the bottom. Makes me want to head to the beach!
XO Card | by: mj.johnston
Stunning with a captial ‘S’ but by now we expect nothing less from card queen Mary Jo Johnston. Love the layers and the cool fan flower. The folded corner is a nice little touch.
As well as the Feb. 14th stamp on the library card. Bravo!
Luck Card | by: mj.johnston
Another boombastic card from Mary Jo for St. Patty’s Day. Super cute and very simple. I love that she used the stamped definition as the featured message on the front.
Leçon de Botanique | by: ingridfasquelle
A beautiful combination of kits makes this page a stand out this week. Ingrid has a real eye for color and can put together a page or rock a template (in this case) like nobody’s business. Great layering and great design!
Easter is creeping up so stay tuned for some Easter products (at some point in the near future)! Working on them as you read…unless it’s the middle of the night in which case I may be sleeping.
Happy Monday!
XO

I just wanted to share some pics from my week in Florida! We had a great time. I have SO many pictures but here are a few highlights. Unfortunately we only had a few days of GREAT weather but that’s ok because I shopped on the other days and we also saw Alice in Wonderland in 3D (not my idea – I would have rather shopped!) We were lucky enough to get out on a friends boat to cruise around and check out the beautiful homes along the water.
They were phenomenal. Can you imagine living right on the water and having your boat in your backyard? Most also had guest houses and pools, tennis courts etc.
The yachts are MASSIVE. Ridiculously awesome.
Love this shot!
I took so many pictures on the boat because I had everyone cornered and they couldn’t run away. LOL. This is one of my faves because if you look in Mr. M’s glasses the 4 of us (we were with 2 friends) are all in the reflection.

It was great to be with people on the trip – I actually made it into a few photos for a change!
Tee hee.
It is manatee season so we had to drive really SLOW and so we ended up being on the boat most of the day. I was lucky enough to catch some sunset pics.
We spent the last 2 days driving through the Florida Keys. Apparently the drive from Miami to Key West was voted the #1 (by some website) drive to take before you die. So we piled into the convertible and headed out.
You are basically driving on a 2 lane highway all the way down through the ocean. You’ve got the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other.
It was hard to take pictures from the back of a moving convertible but you get the idea.
On the way we stopped for a beverage at Jimmy Johnson’s.
And hung out under the tiki hut!
A few hours later we arrived in Key West where the chickens and the roosters run wild.
Hello little chicks!
Key West is pretty cool. It feels like you’re in a small town in a tropical place – like the Bahamas or something. The houses are all old colonial style (so gorgeous) and the atmosphere is so relaxed. I was so excited to find this street sign. I made everyone cross the street and pose/take pictures. I’m so lame.
Every night a few hours before sunset, hundreds of people gather at historic Mallory Square to watch the sun sink into the Gulf of Mexico.
There are tons of street performers and vendors.
Standing here at the southernmost point in the USA you are the last to see the sunset in North America.
Once the sun goes down, everyone heads for Duval Street which is packed with many bars, restaurants and night spots. Yeah Mon.
Duval street is also apparently, where Santa slims down and boozes up in the summer.
Mile Marker 0 represents the end of the line, the furthest south you can get from the lower 48 continental states, and still be in the USA.
This is the 90 Mile Marker to Cuba, the Southernmost point in the Continental USA.
Standing at the end of the pier you feel like you’re at the end of the earth!
At this point everything is labelled as the ‘Southern Most’. The Southern Most Restaurant, The Southern Most Hotel…yadda, yadda, yadda.
On the drive home we stopped at one of many small beaches. I love this shot – especially the flip flops sitting in at the bottom left.
With gorgeous homes along the coast.
And we found a hermit crab! I ran to the car to grab my macro lens for this one.
We waited and waited until he came out of his shell.
And then we continued back to Ft. Lauderdale and caught a plane the next morning back home. Wined and dined on some crappy deep fried food at Chilli’s on a stopover in Atlanta and then it was back to Toronto!
Hope my pictures weren’t too boring! LOL.
