And for all us last minute procrastinators, Claire has come to save the day with a super cute, quick and easy Valentine’s gift for your whole family. Check it out!

claire_album

Hi Ladies! Claire here!! It’s time for a little Valentine’s project. But the best part about this project is everyone in the family gets to participate. In the end we all get to enjoy a fun little album! Pick up the album here and just print – everything has been pre-designed for you, OR create your own with the blank layered templates.

Project-Overall

All you have to do is print out the ‘What I Love About You’ cards – one for each person  to write one for each member of the family. For example, in a family of three, you would have cards for Dad to fill out for Mom and Daughter. In my family we have seven members. So in total I had to have 42 cards (7X6 – you don’t want to fill out a card about yourself).

Front-of-Card

I went a little crazy with this and designed cards with each person’s name and pictures on it.

Back-of-Card

You can make this as simple or complex as you want. But do make sure that each card includes who it is to, who it is from, a place to respond, and the date.

Create an envelope for each member of the family for the cards to go into. All templates are included for you. Hand each member of the family their envelope with the cards they are to fill out in them. After they are done, they can split them up and put in the appropriate envelope. Bind the envelopes with a binder, sewing, or ring and when finished, you should have an envelope for each person with Valentines from all the family members in it for them to read and enjoy.

Front-of-Book

That’s it. I was amazed at how much fun everyone had filling out the cards, how much everyone had so much fun reading the response, and how much cool it was that each response is a reflection of the relationships right now in our house. Try it this Valentine’s day and I’m sure you will have a treasured family keepsake too.

Materials used: Miss Mint’s Alphabeads Original, Kindergarten Crafts, Love Muffin, Spaghetti Strings, Dictionary Decoupage Vol. 1, Custom Shape Waves, Patchwork Princess, School House Alpha, and Valentine Seals.

LOTS OF LOVE & Happy Scrapping!!

First, before I forget it’s YouTube Tuesday! Love this baby! Her future hubby is in trouble! LOL!!

So guess what I did this weekend? I met my very first digi friend, Mint Chick Cindy. Turns out we don’t live too far apart so we decided to meet up over the weekend and it was awesome!!! Kinda weird to talk about ‘online stuff’ in real life, but I must admit it was a nice change from typing everything all the time.  So we met up for lunch and walked around a nearby mall. I told Cindy that we just HAD to take some pictures so we ran into this massive outdoor/camping store to find someone to take a picture for us. Well once we got in there and saw other people taking pictures of themselves in the boats and stuff, we –okay, I — forced Cindy to pose with me all over the store in and on whatever we could get our hands on. The gentlemen in the store were all too happy to help us take pictures. LOL.

So here we are! We are actually sitting in the boat pictured below.

The guy who took our picture told us to sit at the wheel…and then pretended to run off with my camera. Not funny.

IMG_9534

Sitting on some kind of cool 4×4.

 IMG_9530

Cindy sitting on one too.

IMG_9531

Umm..ok I made her stand there and put the rope around her. LOL.

Me and my new mannequin friend Timmy.

IMG_9540

Ok…this was WAY funnier than it appears to be in the picture…so we found a HUGE section of just camouflage. Cindy kind of jokingly said I should put it on…so I did. Then I made her put it on too and got some guys to take a picture. They tried to convince us to go change into the matching pants too but I had to draw the line somewhere. Cindy is holding antlers or something and I took a stuffed raccoon (on display) off the shelf. It was ridiculous.

And on our way out from lunch I noticed this store (see below) called ‘Dangerous Goods’. Had to take a picture because I can’t think of a more fishy name for a store. I have no idea what they sell, but I assume it’s dangerous.

And that’s the news for now! New products coming shortly! ;)

Custom Valentine’s Treats
By: Joscie Cutchens

Aloha Ladies!  I put a hybrid spin on my boys’ Valentines treats for their classmates.  Last year I punched and layered colored cardstock with printed hybrids, but since this year I have twice as many, I decided to do it all digital and order the prints at Wal-Mart.

I started out by taking them outside for a quick valentine’s day photo shoot last week featuring $5 Old Navy Valentine’s Day shirts!

Valentine4

I chose a picture for each boy and created the cards using Kindergarten Crafts background paper, a re-colored frame from the Candy Cane Christmas Elements and Red Plastic Alphas and Alpha Beads in blue.

valentines3

I placed four cards per 4×6 print and saved to my thumb drive and printed them at Wal-Mart one hour photo for just a few bucks.

I trimmed with my paper trimmer and mounted to the boxes with my ATG gun

I hope you enjoyed these as much as I did ;)

Valentine’s Day Card
By: Mary Jo Johnston

Not sure what to do with your Christmas and Halloween kits after the holidays? Well, if you’re me, you’re still scrapping the pages from Halloween long into December. And Easter… the perfect time to finish up those Christmas pages, LOL! But, if you’re timeline is running right in sync with the yearly calendar, you might be looking for a project and those adorable holiday kits don’t have to take a back seat until next year!

Take a look at the papers in your kits. You’ll be sure to find several solid color or patterned papers that coordinate with holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Easter or even the Fourth of July.

I combined Miss Mint’s Speckled Spot Paper from the Kooky Spooky Papers and the Holly Berry Paper from the Candy Cane Christmas Papers to create this cute Valentine’s Day card. The red and black combination was perfect for my February love theme.

Supplies:
Peppermint Creative Kooky Spooky Paper Pack
Peppermint Creative Candy Cane Christmas Paper Pack
Custom Bracket Mats 1 (#8)
2009 Calendar Stamps – Classic
Rainbow Joy Element Pack (Newsprint Heart)
Bazzill Basics White Cardstock
EK Success Foam Squares
Finished Card is 5” x 5”

To create this card:

1. Cut cardstock to 5.5” x 11”. Fold in half.
2. Print Speckled Spot Paper and cut a block to 5.5” x 5.5”. Adhere to front of card.
3. Cut a cardstock square to approximately 2.5” x 2.5”. Adhere to center of card.
4. Using your photo editing software, create the calendar mat approximately 2.5” wide. 5. Print and cut.
6. Adhere calendar mat to center of card using foam squares for dimension.
7. Print the Newsprint Heart (Rainbow Joy Elements Kit) approximately 1.5”.
8. Cut and adhere to card as shown.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Before we get to the video action, let me just clarify, in regards to my last post – I am behind the times and do not have a Facebook or My Space account. Trust me, it’s a good thing. All the time I’d be spending Facebooking would just take away from design time which means, less Minty products and really, that’s no fun for anyone. So, if you think about it, I really avoid it all for you. ;) LOL. So you’re welcome.

Alright, down to business…another YouTube Tuesday coming at ya! Actually, it’s technically not a YouTube video, because YouTube deleted it, so I had to dig around online to find it..

So this is Beyonce and Justin Timberlake on SNL doing a parody of Beyonce’s ‘Single Ladies’ video. You have to have seen the original video first to appreciate it though so I’ve posted it below in case you haven’t seen it. Love, love, LOVE this video, BTW.
