May 2007

NOTE: The title of today’s post should be sung in your head to the tune of Olivia Newton-John’s “Let’s Get Physical”.

I think yesterday’s YouTube Tuesday was the most popular to date! It looks like you ladies love Dirty Dancing just as much as I do. How hot is Patrick Swayze in that movie? Yummo!

I FINALLY have some exciting Peppermint Creative news to share. Commercial licenses are now available! It took a little longer than expected to put it all together but now it’s all good to go. Very exciting! You can apply for one through the store – it’s listed just below Gift Cards. Please keep in mind that this is a Limited Commercial License for small business use and does not allow for my products to be used by digital designers when creating their own kits, elements or templates. I’ve listed the pricing information below but you can view all the terms and fill out an application right here (scroll down for application form).

    Limited Commercial License Price List

Coordinated Kits (including all freebie kits)
Price: $30 per kit PLUS the price of the kit

    Element Packs

I hope that those of you who are running small design or photography businesses will find this helpful. If you have any questions about any of the terms, feel free to contact me. Be sure to tune in this Friday for some very special Q&A Day Friday fun! You won’t want to miss it ;)

If you know what movie the title of today’s post is from you are sure to appreciate today’s YouTube Tuesday video. I LOVE the movie in question. I have both the VHS and the DVD and I think I’ve seen it over 20 times. LOL. Any guesses? She’s Like the Wind…Hungry Eyes…Big Girls Don’t Cry? I’m talking about Dirty Dancing of course! And if for some odd reason you have not seen this movie, I demand that you go and rent it right now and come back later to watch the video posted below.

For those of you who, like me, are completely obsessed with this movie you will surely recognize the dance that this couple chose to perform as their first dance at their wedding. Very cool!!!

You must be thinking that I’ve completely forgotten about Q&A Day Fridays for the last two weeks but the truth is that I’ve had no ‘Q’s for which to post any’A's. Sad but true! C’mon people!! If you have any questions – feel free! Anything goes. Well, anything other than math and politics that is. I must confess I’ve been really lazy when it comes to the computer lately. The mojo comes and goes and right now it is so far gone. I’m trying to get my groove back but so far no luck. I’m trying not to panic because it tends to happen from time to time but once it’s gone, you just can’t help but wonder if it’s ever coming back!

So since I have no scrapbook related news I’ll share some NSBR stuff! I’m SO excited that So You Think You Can Dance has started. It has to be my favorite summer time show. Did anyone see “Sex” make his come back? Have you ever seen a human being who emits less sexual appeal than him? LOL. I can’t wait until they start to trim the group down to the top dancers and the good stuff starts. Fingers crossed Paris Hilton’s going to jail. ROFL. You’ve got to love that story. It makes me laugh every time I think about it. She can’t bring makeup or her hair extensions – how will she survive?

I hope you are all enjoying the warm weather and getting some sun. Cross your fingers that my next post has some product previews in it!!!

Is it Tuesday again already? Wow! I can’t believe it’s been a week since my last post. Time sure does fly when the weather warms up. It’s just too tempting to go outside and stay away from the computer. But now that the month is nearing an end, it’s time for me to get back to it and start making some nice new goodies for you to enjoy, so keep an eye out for some new products coming soon.

This week I’ve got a great video for you. Jay Leno fans will be familiar with on one of my favorite segments on The Tonight Show called the “Phony Photo Booth.” They set up an automatic photo booth at Universal Studios and a comedian who is hidden from view provides that computerized instructional voice over. But what the people inside don’t know is that she can see them. It’s pretty funny – enjoy!

Tootie, tootie, toot, toot! Scrapbook Trends has requested my Hannukah layout (the one with my Mom making latkahs) for their Home for the Holidays Idea Book. Yahoo!! My first publication EVER! I’m so excited. I had to remove it from the gallery until after publication in August otherwise I would have posted it below.

I’m very happy to have gotten some positive feedback on the paper clip tutorial. I’m so glad it helped a bunch of you out. I’ll have to think up another one.

I’ve got two videos for you this week. The second one is from Yahoo because I couldn’t find this version on YouTube. Enjoy!!

So cute!!!

I finally sat down and scrapped a few pages! I always forget how much I actually enjoy creating a page until I create one that I really love. These one’s took FOREVER but I’m so happy with how they turned out. Two more magnets to add to the ‘ol fridge!

I used paper clips on both these pages so I thought I would share my technique. You can use the same steps to string tags or any other items for that matter. It’s really pretty simple once you get the hang of it. Just click the link below for the full size tutorial for Adobe Photoshop users. (Note: shown using PC commands)
